TRUMP'S TARIFF WAR

Global recession coming soon

today we are getting to see a living example of how much destruction a single stupid politician can cause in the whole world. It was on the second of April 2025 when Don Trump announced his presidential tariffs, imposed tariffs on more than 90 countries of the world and said in his typical dramatic style that no more many countries give of the left and the right. In his opinion, all the other countries of the world were looting America for a long time. America, which is the richest country in the world, was being ripped off by all the other countries, but now it is our turn to do the rip-off. As soon as he announces this, there is an earthquake in the stock markets all over the world. Within a week, trillions of dollars are lost and now the threat of global recession is looming all over the world. The world trembles on the edge of a potential global recession. Monday of 7 April was the most terrible day for the stock market. Be it Hong Kong or Taiwan, China or Japan, Germany or the UK, the US or India, the stock market fell very fast everywhere. I would like to show you an example of how things have been handled in a strange and childish way here. On the second of April, Donald Trump imposed a 34% tariff on China. Two days later, in response to this, China imposed its own tariff of 34% on America. Donald Trump did not like this and threatened China by saying, " Remove this tariff. If you do not remove this, I will impose another 50%. Remove by tomorrow 12th putting 50% tariff on above that we put on." But China stuck to its stand and on the 9th of April, America imposed another 50% tariff on China and in response to this, China also imposed another 50% tariff on America. In this way, a game of tit for tat is being played here. There is a trade war going on between these two countries in the open. Let us understand this entire situation in depth in today's video. what is this tariff? Tariff is a type of tax. It is a tax that is imposed on goods coming from outside the country. For example, if you buy a smartphone made outside India, like iPhone, in India, then an import tax of 15% is imposed on it. Import tax by the Indian government is also a type of tariff. 20 to 25% import duty is imposed on some things like clothes. Import duty is also a type of tariff. There are mainly two reasons behind imposing tariffs. The first is to increase the revenue of the government. Like other taxes, this is also a source of income for the government and the second reason is to protect local industries because by imposing tariffs, goods coming from foreign countries become expensive and things made in our country remain cheap. In comparison, people buy more things made in their country, so local industries get a boost. Many countries impose tariffs for this reason. There is nothing wrong in this. In fact, if tariffs are imposed smartly, then it also benefits the economy of the country. For example, South Korea is a country whose farmers were facing a lot of problems in 1980-1990. Their farmers did not have much modern technology at that time. So, rice could be imported from America, Thailand and Vietnam at a much cheaper price than the price at which they could sell rice in their country. So, South Korea imposed tariffs very strategically to save the livelihood of its farmers. They said that there is a small limit. If we are importing rice in our country till that limit, then there will be no tariff on it. But if we import more rice than that in our country, then a very high tariff will be imposed. A tariff of more than 500% will be imposed. What happened with this was that the rice coming from outside the country became expensive and the farmers of the country got a chance to remain competitive. Gradually, they also started using modern technology. As their government invested money in rural infrastructure and education, After a few decades, when their farmers also reached that level, they gradually removed the tariffs. Now think, if tariffs were not imposed here, what impact would it have had on their farmers? The entire local farming sector would have been destroyed and poverty and unemployment would have been seen on a large scale. So this shows that tariffs are not a wrong thing in themselves. But the question here is how tariffs are imposed, on which things are they imposed, on which countries are they imposed because now think about things from another perspective, think from the perspective of the country which is exporting its goods to another country. Imagine India exports a lot of medicines to South Korea, it exports so many medicines that South Korea is the largest consumer of Indian medicines and now one day suddenly South Korea imposes a tariff of 100% on medicines coming from India. South Korea says that it needs to promote its local medicine industry. How will India feel in this situation? India will not be happy at all, especially if the biggest consumer of Indian medicines is South Korea, because India's own industry will be destroyed if Indian medicines stop selling in South Korea. This is the reason that when a country imposes tariffs to protect its local industry, then the other country can also suffer losses and there are many such cases where the other country does not like this thing at all and the other country gets angry and imposes tariffs in retaliation. In this way, a tariff war can start on the first country, which can also be called a trade war. A simple way to avoid this is to negotiate, talk with the other country, explain to them that this is our problem, that is why we want to impose tariffs and if the other country understands your point, you will be able to find a solution which is beneficial for both. Maybe you say that okay, impose tariffs on our medicines but after a limit so that we mostly Medicines can still be sold in your country Talking in a friendly manner is a very important word here. Here, without talking to anyone, Donald Trump suddenly imposed tariffs on 90 countries and that too with a full attitude that whatever I want to do, I will do that. Go through a little tough love, I may be but they all understand, they will rip off and they will understand. So obviously many countries were not happy with this and they started imposing tariffs in retaliation. On his part, Donald Trump has said that he imposed tariffs so that he could reduce America's trade deficit. That is why the day he imposed tariffs, he also named this day as Liberation Day. Now you will ask what is trade deficit, let us take the example of two countries. One is America and the other is China. Suppose the total goods that America is exporting to China are worth $1 billion and the total goods that China is exporting to America are worth 2 billion dollars. So here 2 - 1 America has a trade deficit of $1 billion dollars. The difference between exports and imports is that now having a trade deficit in itself is not always a bad thing. If you look at it superficially, it is said that trade deficit is a bad thing because your country is dependent on another country a lot. But if your country's economy is strong, investments from many countries are coming to your country and there is no such critical thing on which you are dependent on another country, then trade deficit is not a bad thing. But Trump feels that America's trade deficit is a bad thing and to remove this trade deficit, he says that he imposed tariffs and to impose these tariffs, he even used emergency powers. I am not joking, he declared the trade deficit itself as a national emergency. National emergency security way of life experts say that misusing the emergency act in this way is not at all right for democracy. But now let's talk about these tariffs. Let's look a little deeper at the tariffs imposed by Trump. Donald Trump was standing with a big board on which different tariffs for different countries were written. In this, a tariff of at least 10% has been imposed on every foreign product imported into America. This 10% tariff has been imposed even on those countries with whom America is not even in a trade deficit. Trump gave the excuse that many countries impose tariffs on goods coming from America. Therefore, the tariffs that Trump is imposing are actually reciprocal tariffs. That means they do it to us and we do it to them. See the list here: Cambodia 49%, Vietnam 46%, 20% tariff has been imposed on European Union, 32% on Taiwan, 25 % on South Korea, 26% on India, 17% on Israel After the tit for tad game that was played with China, the tariffs on China have reached 1125% and on the other hand, China has also imposed tariffs on China. Tariffs of 1125% have been imposed on America. The interesting thing is how the exact numbers were calculated. A very simple formula was used here. The trade deficit of any country with America was divided by the imports coming from that country and the percentage that came out was called the tariff of that country by Trump and he imposed half of it as tariff. And because we are being very kind, we charge them approximately what they are and charging as. For example, America has a trade deficit of $295 billion with China and the goods that China imports from America are worth 439.9 billion. According to the formula, the percentage that was created here was 67%, so the trade deficit between the two countries is 67%. But now Trump said a very stupid thing here. Trump said that this 67% is the number that China is imposing as tariff on America's goods, which is not there at all and calling it a tariff. Half of its tariff of 34% was imposed. The same was done with all the countries and I don't understand why none of the people around Trump noticed this. Is this a formula that even a primary school child would understand, but no, Trump crossed all limits of stupidity when he imposed tariffs on some uninhabited islands near Antarctica - Heard Island and McDonald Island. There are some islands near Antarctica where no humans live. No human has even gone there for the last 10 years. Only penguins live on that island. But Trump imposed a tariff of 10% on that island as well. Let's see the reaction of the penguin community after Trump's announcement. No seriously, these islands are so isolated that to reach here, one has to take a two-week boat journey from Australia and in the last 10 years, no human has gone there. Is it possible that Trump saw the name of this island - McDonald Island and assumed that it is McDonald's Disney Land? Well, it's a joke. On one hand, but these tariffs are actually having an impact. America is a very big consumer market and small and big businesses around the world depend on selling their goods to American consumers. Therefore, many countries have imposed tariffs in retaliation to fight against America. China, European Union and Canada, in retaliation, deliberately targeted those places in America where Trump gets the most votes. For example, China targeted corn farmers and car makers. Canada imposed tariffs on poultry farms and AC manufacturers. Europe imposed tariffs on steel mills and slaughter houses. These are all those sectors where most of the people who support Trump and vote for Trump live. The logic here is simple. If you want to cause harm, harm those people who have voted for this stupid politician. Trust me, I'm like a spot person. Actually, imposing tariffs in this manner on so many different countries all of a sudden, without talking to them. There will be losses because of this and losses are to both sides. The business of the country from which the goods were coming to your country will be affected and people will buy less of their goods. But when the goods from abroad become expensive in your own country and not just one or two things but almost everything becomes expensive, then the common man's pocket will be directly affected. The Americans will suffer the most losses due to Trump's tariffs because today we live in a globalized world. In a country like America, whatever goods are sold, in most cases, either they are completely made outside or the small parts, raw materials or ingredients in it come from outside. Take the example of Mr. Beast, the chocolate made by him, he tweeted that although it is made in America, but the cocoa beans needed to make chocolate come from outside, from countries like Africa and if the tariffs increase, then bringing those raw materials will become more expensive for making chocolate, due to which the price of chocolate will increase. Therefore, he wrote in the tweet that after these tariffs Actually, it will be cheaper to make chocolate outside America. If we look at history, we will see that time and again America has imposed tariffs in this manner without thinking, on many things, on many countries. America itself has had to bear the loss. It was in the year 1789 that America's first president George Washington introduced the Tariff Act, in which a tax of 5% was imposed on imported goods. But in the year 1890, tariffs were increased on a very large scale. A tax of 49.5% was imposed on more than 1500 goods. The man behind these tariffs was William McKenley, who is also called the Napoleon of Protectionism. Trump considers him his hero. But do you know what happened due to these tariffs? In 1893, depression came in America. Unemployment reached 25%. After the year 1910, the Democrats came to power, who supported free trade. They reduced the tariffs, and America witnessed rapid economic growth. But in 1920, the Republican Party again came to power. comes to power and tariffs are again increased to protect farmers and industries. Then in the year 1930, Republican President Herbert Hoover brings the Smooth Holly Tariff Act. Under this, tariffs were increased to more than 20% in almost every sector and what happened was that after this other countries were not happy. Other countries retaliated against it and imposed their own retaliatory tariffs and after this international trade fell down all over the world. Between 1929 and 1934, global trade decreased by 66%. The Great Depression came in 1929. There were other reasons behind this but the situation went from bad to worse. The credit for this goes to these tariffs. For about 10 years, the entire American economy and the global economy were slipping. It was only in the year 1939 when the Second World War started that factory production started increasing in America and then America came out of this depression. From the Second World War till today, America has always promoted free trade and has always said that other countries should not trade with other countries. Keep your tariffs to a minimum. The fewer the tariffs, the more international trade will be seen and the more benefit each country will get. On the basis of this philosophy, the WTO World Trade Organization was created, which became a negotiation platform for countries around the world. Even today, if you go to the WTO Wikipedia page, there is a purpose section there. See what is written there - Reduction of tariffs and other barriers to trade. The purpose behind creating the WTO is to reduce tariffs around the world. America has played a major leading role in creating and promoting this international organization. But now after the arrival of Donald Trump, everything has turned upside down. The rest of the countries of the world do not know how much America can be trusted. What does America actually believe in? The Prime Minister of Singapore gave a very interesting statement. Listen to it. Singapore took a bigger hit than others because of our heavy reliance on America the last time. Experience something like this was in the 1930s Trade was escalated into armed conflict and eventually the Second World War No one can say how the current situation will unfold in the coming months and years But we must be clear about the dangers that are building up in the world Global institutions are getting weaker International norms are breaking down More and more countries will act based on narrow self-interest and use force and pressure to get their way This is the harsh reality of our world today They say that the last time a trade war was witnessed on such a large scale, it led to armed conflicts and later the Second World War Now it is very difficult to predict what will happen next The world economy is going through a very unpredictable time and Donald Trump's own behaviour is responsible for this unpredictability On the night of 9th April, the news comes that Trump Tariffs against all countries have been paused for 90 days and have been reduced to just 10% except for China. Tariffs on China have been increased further. I did 90 days for the people did not write China, which means tariffs are going up and down day by day and people are confused as to what Donald Trump is trying to do here. What do you think friends, write in the comments below and tell us the correct answer to this. Maybe even Trump himself doesn't know because maybe he himself doesn't know what he wants to do. Some people here directly accuse him of stock market manipulation. When he suddenly imposed tariffs, the stock market fell. But on the morning of the day he removed the tariffs, before removing the tariffs, he tweeted that this is a very good time to invest money in the stock market. He knew that as soon as the tariffs are removed, the stock market will go back up. And here he was directly telling his followers by posting that now go and buy as soon as he removes the tariffs. When the news of the pause of the US was announced, the stock market suddenly went up. This is a very simple and clear evidence of stock market manipulation. But the question arises that who will dare to investigate the President of America. And even after investigating, the question is that which judge in America will have the courage to give judgment against Donald Trump. Now a theory also arises here that Donald Trump took such a big U-turn so quickly because he did not expect that the world would react in this way to his tariffs. If this is so, then it clearly shows Trump's incompetence. But if it is not so, some people say that Trump already had a plan. Trump was playing four-way chess here. First, he will impose so many tariffs in front of the world, then remove all of them, but will let China's tariffs remain. This was a trick to trap China. So this also clearly shows Trump's stupidity because imposing and removing tariffs in this manner on such a large scale is not a game. Millions of people around the world are affected. Crores of small and big businesses are affected by this. Crores of businesses are not able to fix the right price of their products because they do n't know what tariff will be imposed tomorrow, how much impact that tax will have on their profits, will they be able to remain profitable or not. This is the same thing as setting the entire house on fire to kill cockroaches in your house. The same logic of demonetization, but 10 times worse than that.
